What You Can Expect From Our Process

My objective is to  identify if there are any gaps within your financial plan or asset management that may be holding you back in any way. The process we guide our clients through has purpose and discipline.

We help our clients in two ways

  1. Financial Planning
  2. Asset Management

Financial Planning

It is my ultimate goal for my clients to be able to answer 3 questions

  1. Who are you
  2. Why do you get up in the morning
  3. What do you want to accomplish

Any life plan or financial plan is built around these three questions. It is my experience that most people move from survival to comfort -survival to comfort and end up not reaching their personal and financial potential. To help break this cycle I start our financial planning relationships with an  online assessment , Communication DNA (click here to discover yours). Your Communication DNA is the compass for your journey to answering these three questions.

We will then compare mine and your communication style and how we make decision to help make sure if needed I make changes to enhance the delivery of information.

My financial planning process addresses the 5 buckets where I feel an individual can direct their income.

  1. Taxes
  2. Life Style
  3. Savings/investing
  4. Debts
  5. Giving

My goal is to help my clients find money they are already spending to redirect towards giving, reducing debt, savings, and investing. In conjunction with a tax advisor or working with your current tax advisor we will help you review strategies to reduce your taxes. I will also review your credit cards, mortgages, student loans and other debts then helping you evaluate all your options. Applying any tax and interest saving towards your goals is a great way to help increase your wealth. Along the way we will pursue connecting your passion and purpose to your plan so your life style can be more aligned to who you are.

Asset Management

I believe one of the primary driving forces of any business, including the price of stocks, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, and bonds, is the law of supply and demand. When there are more buyers than sellers willing to sell, the price usually moves higher. When there are more sellers than buyers willing to buy, the price can move lower.

Charles Dow founder of the Wall Street Journal as a part of his purchasing process, he would plot the price movement in stocks on a grid, helping him better understand the specific supply and demand of a stock. He developed this strategy, 125 years ago, and is the basis for what today is called, point and figure charting. I use this technique to  possibly help give me an indication when demand or supply is increasing  This gives me a consistent buy and sell discipline with the intent to keep your money invested around the world where the law of supply and demand could suggest where it would be treated the best. In the world of money I believe money looks through "relative eyes". This means that money is going to move where it is treated the best under the current environment.  Money is not looking for the perfect place just the best place based on the current economic environment. This fact may shed light on the disconnect between current economic conditions and the stock market.

As in football, there is a time to have the offense and a time for the defense to be on the field. Before you play the game, possibly knowing which team, offense or defense, to put on the field... offense - wealth accumulation mode and defense- wealth preservation mode, is an important part of our risk management discipline. However, how do you know which team to put in and when? An indication maybe obtained every trading day from …the New York stock exchange itself. The exchange’s bullish percent Indicator has been used since 1955 to help measure the percent of stocks controlled by demand. At the end of each trading day, all stocks are reviewed and put into either a demand or a supply pile. If there are more stocks in x’s, demand is in control; this would suggest you might want your offense on the field. If there are more stocks in the o’s, supply is in control, may lead one to believe it is necessary to have your defense be on the field. After I possibly know which team to have on the field, it would be helpful to know what play to run or what investment to own at that time. To help me know what play to run we have a playbook, just like a prepared football coach. We have a different game plan for different market conditions.

I make investment selection decisions using both fundamental and technical analysis. When you see an analyst on TV or read analyst comments in print, most often these are fundamental analyst. They are attempting to answer “what” to buy or not buy, primarily based on the management team or quality of the company’s earnings, whereas a technical analyst attempts to answer “when” to buy or sell.  Click here to watch a video that explains my money management process.
